Categories of consumer health data

Depending on the features you choose, CloserWell may collect or process medication and dose information, injection-site history, weight and other body measurements, meals and nutrition, hydration, activity, symptoms, appetite and fullness check-ins, progress photos, meal photos, and summaries or trends generated from the information you record.

Sources of consumer health data

Consumer health data comes primarily from you when you enter, upload, or save information in CloserWell. Some summaries and progress views are calculated from the information you previously recorded. CloserWell does not purchase consumer health data from data brokers.

Why CloserWell uses it

CloserWell uses consumer health data to provide the tracking, reminder, history, timeline, report, progress, nutrition, and check-in features you request; maintain and secure those features; and respond to authenticated privacy or deletion requests.

CloserWell does not use consumer health data to build advertising profiles and does not sell consumer health data.

Consumer health data shared with processors

CloserWell uses processors only as needed to provide requested features. Supabase provides the authenticated database, private storage, and server-side infrastructure that stores and processes account-linked health-product information.

When you choose meal-photo analysis, the meal image is sent to OpenAI for the requested nutrition estimate. CloserWell deletes its private temporary storage copy after reading the image for analysis. The analysis request is designed not to include your account name, medication, weight, symptoms, or other unrelated health values.

When you choose USDA food search, the food or dish search term is sent to USDA FoodData Central to return reference nutrition data. The search is designed not to include your account name, medication, weight, or symptoms.

CloserWell currently has no affiliates with which it intentionally shares consumer health data. RevenueCat, Resend, referral systems, public website analytics, and marketing systems are designed not to receive member health-product values.

Sale, advertising, and geofencing

CloserWell does not sell consumer health data, does not use consumer health data for targeted advertising profiles, and does not use geofences around health-care facilities to identify or target people.

Your consumer health data rights

Where applicable law provides these rights, you may ask CloserWell to confirm whether we are collecting, sharing, or selling consumer health data about you; request access to that data and information about recipients; withdraw consent from future collection or sharing where consent is the legal basis; and request deletion.

Submit a consumer health data request by emailing hello@closerwell.com. You may also use an existing authenticated account when needed to verify your identity. You do not need to create a new account solely to make a privacy request.

We will respond within the time required by applicable law. If CloserWell refuses a request and applicable law gives you an appeal right, you may appeal by emailing the same address with "Privacy appeal" in the subject line.

Deletion and processors

When applicable law requires deletion, CloserWell will take steps to delete covered consumer health data from its systems and notify processors or other recipients as required. Deletion from archived or backup systems may follow legally permitted restoration and backup timelines.

Security

Access to consumer health data is restricted to authenticated product paths and service functions that need it to provide the requested service. CloserWell uses row-level database security, restricted server-side functions, and encrypted network transport as part of its safeguards.
